December Wrap-Up

We have been offline for a few weeks. I have to say it has been peaceful.  Now, it’s time to get back into a routine. Christmas is put away, which always makes our house looks bare, but I want to share our December with you.

Husby’s birthday is the first week of December but he was at work for most of December so he could be home through both holidays. It was a long and fast three weeks with him gone, stay at home mama’s you know what I mean. Hudson and I watched as many Christmas movies as he would sit still for and read piles of Christmas books snuggled up by our fire. It was blissful!

We went on our annual trip to Coeur d’ Alene for the Journey to the Northpole. This year we took my dad along for the trip. We had so much fun! H loved seeing Santa and hearing his name on the Nice List. The hotel sent Elves to our room with cookies and milk after seeing Santa. The whole experience was magical.

A fun highlight was our Polar Express Pajama party. We had friends over to watch Hudson’s favorite Christmas movie and sip hot chocolate….coffee for all the mama’s or a mimosa…….maybe two. We piled pillows and blankets in our living room and everyone wore their comfy jammies. It was so much fun and easy to throw together.

20151213_13310320151213_13311120151213_13315620151213_133143-1The big day was eventful, Hudson finally got the big firetruck he has been asking for. We had to visit it every time we went to the store. Thankfully, it was sold out quickly, I was able to tell Hudson Santa must have gotten them all for other kids.

We had a great December I hope yours was as memorable as ours!

Ohh TWOdles!!

Harper is turning the big T.W.O next Saturday and one of her friends is going to be out of town so we decided to have her party a week early! I decided awhile ago I was gonna do a Minnie theme because she loves her some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! (Daisy seems to be her fave but still went with Minnie which I’ll get to why in a minute here) When you think Minnie red, hearts and polka dots come to mind right? So, I figured perfect, I’ll hit up the after Valentines day sales and get a ton of new heart decor! I ended up mixing pink in too since we still had some stuff left over from her birthday last year. I LOVE the way everything turned out, exactly how I had pictured it in my head, she loved it even more which made it that much better 😉 After all this day was all about her. ❤

This second group of pics just cracks me up…SO shows her silly little personality ❤ I basically made everything and got ideas everywhere from my brain to Pinterest! This was all SO easy and all done here and there when I had spare time. I cut out way too many circles for my own good in the end haha! This cute shirt a friend of mine got for her in Disneyland, which I just cut a 2 out of felt and sewed by hand on, so it was easy enough to take the stitching out for continued wear! She had this tutu already as well that I stitched felt hearts on to be removed later too! I made this adorable sparkle Mickey clip out of felt and glitter that I glued to a little clip. I’ve been making her hair accessories forever since they are insane expensive on Etsy or anywhere else really for that matter!

For the cake I got 2 boxes of Funfetti bc its my fave and dyed one batch pink so every other layer would be pink 🙂 Turns out I only used 3 of the 4 8 by 8 rounds because all 4 were too high for my cake stand with the lid on with the toppers I got, found here. These toppers were a HIT, she screamed when she saw the cake and she has insisted on sleeping with little plastic Minnie and Daisy since LOL.  I bought Funfetti hot pink frosting rather than dying white as well as white and used the pink on the bottom layer, mixed the pink and white for the middle and used white on top for an ombre look. (I did the same last year and loved it so much I decided to just do it again.) It tasted amazing too which really is all that counts right? 😉

IMG_5604IMG_5576IMG_5579

I made the banner with card stock and construction paper as well as the Minnie I taped on the heart centerpiece and the ones I taped on the juice boxes. The hearts on the table and heart toothpicks were clearance steals as well as the heart garland and gift bags. I glued rhinestones on the silverware to make them look glam and the “holder” they’re in is a sparky koozie! I made bows using strawberries and blueberries stuck with toothpicks (which I forgot to bring out of the fridge for the party after I took these pics) DANG IT! Harp enjoyed them later anyway haha!

Hot dogs are every kids favorite right? And SO easy to just throw in the crockpot with water to cook themselves so they are ready for go time! I made this cute little sign for the crockpot..because I’m crazy and had to have the Clubhouse touch on everything haha! Served with string cheese and goldfish for the perfect lunch!

IMG_5620IMG_5621

I printed off coloring sheets online so the kids could color after they played for awhile and had lunch, Harper colored on each of her guests sheets as well as her own which did not impress them, but hey what can ya do with an almost two year old trying to share the love..ha!

It was so funny she got really shy when “Happy Birthday” started (totally cute) but then the rest of the day sang it to herself. 🙂 She blew out the candles like a little champ and hopefully made an awesome wish. 🙂 We opened presents before her friends left and she had a BLAST! We have been getting packages in the mail this past week from friends and family back home and I’m sure she has no idea why she’s getting all of these fun presents but she is loving it no doubt!

IMG_5624IMG_5628IMG_5630IMG_5636

Balloons really are a hit for a two year old and this morning she came downstairs and the first thing she did was yell BLOONS!!!!  Her and daddy had fun playing with them before her guests arrived!

IMG_5613IMG_5612

It was the perfect day and I can’t wait to for another fun party next year! I’ll leave you with a mama and mini selfie because thats how we do and my awesome ‘Jamicure’ that went along with the theme. ❤

Mommy’s Christmas Wishlist

This time a year my husband is constantly asking me what I want for Christmas. I usually have a certain item I have been waiting for all year. But I am going a different way, I don’t want a gift to unwrap or one that he has to wonder all over town trying to find. This year I would like Favors….better yet acts of kindness. So here it goes, follow along husbands, I am sure I am not the only one that would LOVE these favors...

Sleep In. I do not recall the last time I slept in. In my adult life I have always been a morning person. But for this request I would say its more be left alone for an hour after Hudson wakes up. I try to wake up a couple hours before Hudson may or may not wake up, he is no consistent with his wake up, for this quiet time. So by sleep in I mean let me sleep to a decent hour and entertain Hudson for me…I will even take 30 minutes of quiet.

Grocery Shop Alone. I have dreams of shopping alone. Seriously!? I would love to walk the isles without having to grab a sucker to entertain a toddler or pick up a car that was dropped for the hundredth time. I go to the store almost daily because I forgot something while trying to rush the day before. Just the idea makes my heart sing…

Eat an entire meal while seated. I don’t even get to do this at home. Most often I am trying to toss things on Hudson’s plate so I can eat my dinner. Get up to grab him more….or trade a spoon for a fork than back again. I would like to be able to sit for my entire meal…preferably while it is still hot.

Watch a movie.  An non-animated movie. A dumb romantic comedy would be perfect. I don’t mind Kid’s movies but cannot remember the last time we watched one that wasn’t. I am trying to think of one that has been recently released and cannot think of one. We are in desperate need of a real movie….Suggestions!?

At home Date NightI would love to combine my above request with this one. It seems much easier and way more enjoyable. Comfy jammies and my own couch, snuggled up with Husby. We can have dinner, a few drinks, and enjoy a non-animated movie. Plus, a quick walk upstairs to bed. Perfection! (Even better if Husby does bedtime, while I make a drink.)

Another baby. Why because babies are like a drug. I am addicted. I am tired, hungry and living in chaos most of the time. So why not take another hit….Please.

What would be on your non-gift wish list?

Christmas Ideas for Girls (and boys too)!

Since Nic gave you guys some GREAT ideas for boys, wanted to give you some ideas for girls and what is on Harper’s “wish list” this year! Although a LOT of these items are unisex! EVEN BETTER! Anyone who knows me knows I’m already done with my shopping…and I have been for awhile 😉 So here it is!

I’m all about having one big present under the tree on Christmas morn & Harper just happens to be a bit obsessed with chairs right now (wonder who’s daughter she is) 😉 PERFECT idea for a big gift. So I had been searching FOREVER for one that

1-would fit in our tiny living room

2-wasn’t outrageously priced but was still good quality

3- would semi go with our decor. A friend of mine told me to check out the Amazon warehouse deals, they have daily deals as well as items that have a broken box and such that they can’t sell for the original price! (I’m an Amazon fanatic… how did I not know about this???) SO I checked it out and scored this little number that I myself want to live in!! It had a broken box that was all taped up so I got it for $40 mini ottoman included!!

 chair

I’m trying to stay away from clothes this year for gifts for Christmas but am dying over these new santa shirts I ordered us from a little shop I’ve supported for a long time called SaSea, I think Harp has every holiday shirt she has ever made.. I was going to buy them last year but didn’t so knew when they came back out I was gonna order them. This pre-order also came with a matching santa tote 🙂 How COOL right?!! They are the softest shirts ever and I love the baseball sleeve style! I love doing mama and mini and can’t wait to get some pics in these…WILL be wearing these Christmas morn for SURE!

Harpster is really getting into puzzles and her brain is taking everything in right now so what better gift then this set of awesome wooden puzzles! I love Melissa & Doug brand everything and these are adorable, durable and affordable, colors, numbers and letters?!! Sign us up!

Get them here!

I also think now is the perfect time to work on fun learning games like these cubes! At almost two “Fun” learning is the best right? Again Melissa & Doug found here!

So I’m all about trying to save money, around the holidays especially, who isn’t right? ALWAYS looking to find a deal, not pay shipping, never pay full price. We have a local “Mama’s Marketplace” page on Facebook here, check these out people! I’m SURE locally you have something of this sort! I pretty much refuse to buy new baby and toddler toys that will most likely get played with for approximately an hour then thrown at the dog never to be touched again.. I think I must get it from my mom, a Goodwill regular who has found our entire family some insanely amazing “preloved” things!! I’ve picked up SO much for Harper in the past few months and already pretty much have her birthday done as well! I’ve scored a whole giant set of Mr. Potato head & fam, a Little Tikes baby crib, an outdoor play gym, as well as SO many other things! These dolls from the Disney Store are among the awesomeness I’ve purchased, all three for $10! She is SO into dolls right now she’s gonna LOVE them I just know it!

 IMG_1255

So for your littles check into used things!! They are not going to know the difference I promise! Your husband will thank you in the end 😉 Hope these ideas help anyone who is in a Christmas shopping rut! Happy Holidays!

Christmas Shopping

Hey friends, I am jumping on my Christmas list this year. As organized as I usually am, my Christmas list gets away from me every year. Shopping well into December, never really allowing myself to Enjoy the Holidays. So this year since Hudson is as such a fun age to start family traditions I have vowed to have my shopping list DONE by December 1st. I know I can do it, I just have to stay focused and on budget. I have compiled a list of Toddler Boy ideas for you and your little ones. This is based on Hudson’s interests and his friends. I hope it helps you get a jump on your lists.

So Christmas eve I plan on letting Hudson open one gift, containing new Christmas jammies, a fun new book, a snack and hot cocoa, which he has been quite fond of lately. I tend to buy Hudson’s jammies at Carters, Gap or Old Navy. The price point is perfect and most often I have a coupon code to save a little extra. Here are some of my favorites from Gap, how cute would your little one look coming down to open gifts in these jems or these adorable duds. Plus, a pair of cute slippers, I can already see the adorable photos of Christmas morning.

Gift Ideas Boys (and Girls)

It may only be Hudson, but anything on wheels has become the best toy ever. I have to carry at minimum two trucks in the diaper bag at all times. This year will will probably stay on that theme. I found these cute toys on a trip to Portland, they are Green Toys, all are made from recycled material and minimal packaging. Hudson has a couple of their trucks and they can hold up to a rough and tumbler toddler. I usually use Amazon because we have free shipping. The trucks are sold on greentoys.com too, which has more selection. The tractor with trailer would be a hit as well as the dump truck, so Hudson could collect random items for them to carry. I am a HUGE fan of wooden toys, Hudson has a few and has barely been able to put a dent in them.

Tractor  DumpTruckWorkBench   img18o

Hudson loves trucks but he also enjoys playing with my pots and pans, under my feet in the kitchen. Usually while I am trying to make dinner, it makes for an entertaining dance. I am hoping that if he has his own kitchen with pots and pans we will leave mine alone……Fingers Crossed! I have found a couple online but none in stores not to thrilled about the cost of shipping but it just might be worth it. The one below would be a definite win for Hudson I just have to get the Husby on board! The work bench might be an easier sell. Also, this one from Pottery Barn would be great!

Happy Shopping Friends! Stay tuned for more gift guides.
